The bicycle ride is supposed to be outside Danang on a country road, then a bus ride into Hoi An.

Thanks...We will get into Hoi An no matter which excursion we take.

Did you eat Pho while you were there?

We went to Hoian with the cap. It was beautiful, worse to go.

We took a trip aswell to see the countryside and Danang. 2h is enough, because we had 4h which was far to much.

You have to go to Hoian and not Hanoi. It was one of the nicest places. You can make a dress o anything else in a few hours.

Nice restaurants and cafeshops.:)

I think we paid more. About 80$ for Hoian, Danang, marmol buddha and countryside.

There are people outside the ship to catch clientes, because the taxidrivers dont speak english.

So you have to bargain a lot.

You cant walk on your own outside, because the port is very far away from danang.

We're back....

The bicycle ride was fantastic; only wished it was for 2 hours instead of one. Even though it was hot and humid we enjoyed it thoroughly.

Our tour had lunch in the "Cargo Club". The food was fantastic. It started with "spicy clam soup" and only got better from there!

Our only regret was not enough time to explore more of HoiAn on our own, as we were 'forced' to go to the merchant house and a few other locations with the group before setting off on our own before lunch.

After lunch there was no time; had to head back to the ship (and our last stop at China Beach).

We have also signed up for this Quest Ship tour in April. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Just how 'hot and humid' is it there? Were you in the countryside?

Thanks for your input.

10 out of 10 for geography, Grumps, but 0 out of 10 for geology.

Its Marble Mountain :)

Hence all the marble workshops at the bottom.:D

BTW, Quest being smaller than most, she'll probably dock in Da Nang port rather than the container port- transport available inside & outside the port, and much closer to China beach, Marble Mountain & Hoi An - all well worth visiting in one day.

April will be hot and humid but who cares - plenty of cold beer everywhere, try the local brew which I was able to buy in Hoi An in early January (off the Quest) for 4000 dong (yes that is about 20 cents USD) a glass - and good too.

Go and enjoy the whole experience you will love it and want to go back for more.

Yes - when we were there in March it was hot and humid - but we were really looking forward to that after cold New England winter weather.

We wore hats to combat the sun and drank plenty of bottled water and were very comfortable.

Inside the Merchant house was much too hot and stuffy for us. Outside we found it very pleasant.
