Dancing on Aurora's 2010 World Cruise

Just to mention that P & O are providing good facilities for dance enthusiasts on the current Aurora World Cruise. Unlike Oriana, Aurora has a circular dance floor and this is not the preferred option for most serious dancers. However,the floor is of a decent size and more than adequate for social dancing. Every night the various bands play for ballroom, latin and some sequence dancing and Carmen's is a popular venue, especially on the various Gala Nights.

 

For passengers who wish to learn the basics of the popular dances there are two excellent dance teachers, Bob & Jean Kilpatrick from Scotland. They run beginners' classes on most days and their friendly teaching techniques soon have newcomers moving confidently around the dance floor. In fact Bob and Jean are two of the most popular dance teachers I've come across in over 20 years of cruising.

 

If ballroom dancing is not your thing then there is disco dancing each evening at another venue called Masquerade. And if neither ballroom dancing or disco dancing appeal then you can learn to tap-dance at special sessions held during the day. On Talent Night the tap-dancing class gave a special exhibition to an enthusiastic audience.

 

So, all in all, full marks to P & O for providing dance facilities that are much appreciated by the ever-increasing dancing fraternity.
