senunit Posted February 15, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2010 Hi all! This is our first cruise on the Princess line and we will be sailing the Crown on March 27th, 2010. Now my question is about smoking. I know from experience with RCL that smoking is not allowed everywhere. In fact, it is mostly limited. We dont have a balcony cabin, but a few of us that do smoke want to follow the rules and be respectful to the other passengers who dont want to be around smoke. As thus, Id like to inquire where on the ship smoking is allowed. I presume the casino is a go, but where else? On RCL, they had a bar called Boleros on the biggers ships and you can sit and smoke there. Do they have something like that on Princess as well? Please advise and thank you. You will find a few designated smoking areas, mainly recognizeable as you wander around by the presence of ashtrays. There is an area on the Lido Deck, and one in the rear all the way at the stern that come to mind. You can almost always smoke in the casino, but even I, as a smoker, found the place poorly ventilated and only spent a lot of time in there on the non-smoking night. The Crown also has a small enclosed cigar lounge right off of the casino. As I remember, smoking areas are on the port side only.
Thebox Posted February 16, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2010 Smoking was also allowed in the Wheelhouse Bar when we sailed on the Crown last summer. It's a beautiful inside venue with windows/views and comfortable leather club chairs. We loved having drinks there before dinner. Enjoy your cruise! Shifra Posted February 16, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2010 Smoking has been eliminated from the Wheelhouse. Skywalkers disco has a smoking section. Also, on Princess you are allowed to smoke in your cabin.
senunit Posted February 18, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted February 18, 2010 By cabin, are you referring to inside cabins? Do they provide ash trays? Thanks.
Shifra Posted February 18, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2010 Yes it is allowed in all cabins. You will have to ask your room steward for ashtrays which will be cleaned everyday.

LadySpoilt Posted February 18, 2010 #9 Share Posted February 18, 2010 Actually smoking is being cut back in the Casino (at least on our January Caribbean Princess cruise). There were 3 non-smoking nights this time as opposed to only one last year.
