Dzul Ha or Playa Corona

Want some good shore snorkeling in Cozumel. Not interested in an all inclusive resort. Just some shade and good snorkeling. What are the advantages/disadvantages of each?

We have done Cozumel many times both boat tour and self tour. We really enjoy our tours with Mystic Snorkeling and Rosi. She is wonderful!! We have just taken a taxi and gone off to Dzul Ha and the snorkeling there was just as good the boat tours. It is very easy to get to and cheap by taxi. We liked it because it was not crowded and the people are very nice. Enjoy!! Can't wait to go back!

Hope this isn't too late. We love Playa Corona. Good snorkeling if you swim toward town. Plenty of tables and umbrellas and the chips and salsa are great. They run a tab for you and pay when done. We just flag down a taxi to head back. We leave or belongings on table when in the water and never feel unsafe at all. We especially like the fact that you can walk into the water in a sandy area and then enjoy the fish. It is always where we go and then follow it up with a lunch at Pancho's Backyard. Have fun.

Thanks for the update. We have decided to go to Playa Corona. Did you get a taxi at the cruise ship dock or walk into town a bit. How much was the fare?

You can get one at either place. I don't remember the fare but I think it was pretty reasonable.
