Can you eat in a sit down restaurant on day of embarkation

I sailed on Princess last year, so hang around their boards quite a lot. They have just introduced a new scheme where friends / family etc can board on embarkation day (for a $39 fee), have a meal and a look around etc. Perhaps if successful this might also be extended to P&O as they are a sister company?

Did B2B on Ventura in her maiden season - nobody offered me the opportunity to use a proper restaurant on changeover day. Mind you I was too busy photographing an empty ship and laughing at everyone getting off to bother about food.
