Can you eat in a sit down restaurant on day of embarkation

I sailed on Princess last year, so hang around their boards quite a lot. They have just introduced a new scheme where friends / family etc can board on embarkation day (for a $39 fee), have a meal and a look around etc. Perhaps if successful this might also be extended to P&O as they are a sister company?

I saw that, & that's why I posted what I did... bit naughty!
