Cab fare vs. transfer from pier to airport

Does anyone know how much the cab fare is from Port Everglades cruise terminal to the Fort Lauderdale airport? Would this be cheaper than using Carnival's shuttle transfer?

The taxi would be under $15. Use a taxi. It is much cheaper and easier than the cruise shuttle. There are always lots of taxi's available.

The $15 fare is for the cab - one person or 5. Good luck!:)

Some places in Florida have a set fare from airport to cruise terminal (Miami is $24). Last time we were in Ft Lauderdale we jumped in a cab and because of stop lights and a very long line getting into Port Everglades, it was $20 plus tips. This was with a meter running, so know before you get in! Unless the port authority has regulated a set fare, be prepared to pay more than the usual $15 if there are delays.

Ours was $15.00 for the taxi and that included the tip.

Planning to take taxi from Port Everglades to FLL airport. We will be travelling with our 2 kids (4 yr-old and 1 yr old) do you know if they will take the kids?... I vaguely remember the last time we went on a Princess Cruise, seems like we had a hard time convincing cab driver to take us to the port because we do not have car seats/booster (but I can't remember which port was that)

 

On another note, we will be driving from MCO to FLL for the cruise, and I have secured my rental with budget MCO -F07. Anyone have any idea if FO7 (quay plaza) have shuttle to the port? What do you think is my best bet... drop luggage, spouse and kids then return car myself, or return car and take shuttle/cab to port whole family. (by the way , we are planning to drive and arrive the same day morning)

Bazan - I recommend you call the car rental and ask if they have a shuttle to the port. I believe they do, but things can change.
