minniemom2009 Posted February 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2010 Aside from the obvious window(!), can anyone tell me what the sizes are of each stateroom category? I can't seem to find that info on ncl's website. We booked an inside cabin for our upcoming cruise on 5/1, but now I see I could upgrade to an OV for $120 more. With two kids and the two adults, if there's a bit more room I'm thinking it would probably be worth it. Thanks!
johnql Posted February 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2010 According to cruisedeckplans.com, Oceanview: Avg sq ft cabin: 161 Inside: Avg sq ft cabin: 141 Up to you whether 20 sq ft is worth the difference in price.
omc329 Posted February 19, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2010 On the Norwegian site, they have put in 360 virtual tours that show the rooms quite well. Go to Norwegian, put in your ship, choose 'experience our staterooms', on the right hand side is the link to the tours. There is a bit of difference between OV and IN at the foot of the bed. Other than that, they look quite similar. I understand the bathroom layouts are slightly different as well.
debnjoe1438 Posted February 19, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2010 I had an inside 3 years ago and an outside a couple of weeks ago. I didn't see much difference. If you have more than 2 in either, it'll be tight.
lambs2 Posted February 19, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2010 The outside cabins on the Jewel have the bathroom divided into three separate areas. The inside cabins do not.
alibubba Posted February 19, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2010 For us, cost and where we are going is the determining factor. We were in an inside when we did our 21 day Panama Canal and that meant we were out of our cabin most of the time because weather was so beautiful and there was lots to see. We would not have stayed in our cabin anyways. The same with Hawaii--we were never there except to sleep. If the weather is bad and you can't be out on deck, but still want to see, then an oceanview or balcony is nice. Could get claustrophobic in an inside if you spent much time in there other than sleeping. Carol
Mari619 Posted February 19, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 19, 2010 We found the inside cabins way too small as compared to inside on Holland Am. We have upgraded to a balcony on our Sept. 19 trip to Mediterrean.
