Hi- Wondering if anyone on this forum has booked the Noordam for March 28, 2011? We did, as we had put a deposit down for a future cruise when we were on the Westerdam.

It might seem like way in advance to book, but this is a cruise we have been wanting to book for awhile-we're doing the St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Barbados, Martinique, St. Thomas, Half Moon Cay itinerary.

You probably should head over to the Rollcall section for your ship. That's where specific ship's cruises are listed by the folks going on that cruise. You may find a thread already started or you can start one.

Cruiseapril started a Roll Call on Jan 31, but so far no one else has joined it.

Just wondering- what do you think the average advanced booking time is for most cruises?

We usually book a year ahead. How about you?

We like Oct/Nov time frame, so we try to book early in the year. A year ahead doesn't give you the best price if that's a concern for you. We've done Dec, but Fl can be chilly then. One big roadblock for us is getting a pet/house sitter. So if we wait, we may not be able to get one. Plus the cruise line start their good deals in the first quarter. Now that doesn't mean there aren't good deals later on, but the selection is very restricted.

Our longest advance time was 11 months, shortest about 10 weeks ... inside final payment date when we saw a good price.

I think I read once that the heaviest time for cruise bookings is Jan/Feb, when it's cold up north. So, people booking for that year would range from 3 months to 10 months. My guess is that the average is somewhere around 9 months.

It depends on itinerary too. Full-transit Panama Canal cruises sell out early.

DutchByAssociation, got any input here?
