Question about cabin doors on Triumph

This may sound like a strange question, but do the doors automatically unlock when you pull on the handle?

 

If so, is there something you can suggest to keep the door locked? I have small children, one of whom is something of an escape artist. (Before I get flamed for my parenting abilities -- on my last cruise, my then 2 year old DS escaped when I was in the bathroom and thought he was still napping. I have never, and would never, leave him alone in the room.) Thanks in advance for the help!!

there should be a deadbolt lock on the door.along with a self locking entry lever lock.

There is a deadbolt lock on the door in addition to the usual lock.
