You can book a hotel downtown or near the F. Quarter. The larger hotels have a shuttle from the airport. Go on Orbitz or one of those other sites to find them. The morning of your cruise you will need to take a taxi to the cruise port. You might want to book the carnival transfer to the airport when you return. Their are private companies that will get you to the airport also. Do a goggle search for Airport Transportation New Orleans. I hope this helps. Sargent_Schultz Posted February 22, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2010 I would skip the Carnival transfers and just take a taxi. I'm not aware of any hotels downtown that have a private shuttle - most just use the airport shuttle (at extra cost) http://www.airportshuttleneworleans.com/ For more than one person, I'd just take a taxi. Our favorite hotel is Iberville Suites in the French Quarter. You can often get a good price on hotels.com or try calling the hotel. Away from the noise, but only a block from Bourbon Street. Taxis from downtown hotels are fixed price per person to the port, so it doesn't matter if you stay across the street from the port or a mile away. The airport website (including a link for ground transportation) http://www.flymsy.com/
