BnB's or Hotels in New Orleans

Greetings,

After doing some research online.. I've found that the BnB's (Bed & Breakfast) are comparable, if not cheaper than the hotels. (We're traveling through there halloween weekend and cheapest hotel we could find is about 127 dollars or so a night). Has anyone ever stayed in the BnB's in the Marigny area? they say they are close to the french quarter. If so, do you have any reccomendations for a particular one?

Gryphon, is Priceline a option for you? We are also traveling through New Orleans for our cruise during halloween weekend and prices for our hotel choices are $200+. Booked through Priceline and received a 4* hotel for $70/day for our 2 day precuise and $60/day 3* for our postcruise hotel. While neither hotel is in the FQ they are close enough in the Central Business District and Convention Center area to be a short walk.

that's one thing I've been unsure about we know.. nothing about the city and what's walkable and what's not.. right now we've got a place for $90 a night, and probably going to get a room at the airport for our one night post cruise.... tried looking on a map but we just don't know enough about the city.. to use something like priceline.
