I was sorting some souvenier coins and found many from Guatemala. Thing is...I've never been to guatemala? Anyone know of whether or not I could have gotten (and use again) this money in Belize or Roatan? These are the closest places I have visited.. Thanks for answer to my weird question:o

Of course you could have gotten it anywhere but being able to use them again may be tricky, belizian coins are worth a lot more than Guatemalan and coins are seldom used on Roatan. One Guatemalan GTQ is roughly worth 1/8 of a US dollar at best so figure even the Guat quarters are worth around 3 cents US.

You won't find any coins on Roatan except at the larger grocery stores in town. I found it really nice not to carry coins in my swim trunks.
