Not sure what your interests are last year we hired a taxi for the day. He took us to a guy that rented horses to ride to a pretty nice waterfall. After that we went over the mountain to the north side of the island and sent some time at a very nice beach. I would definetly recommend getting out of Samana and enjoying the country. Have fun!!

We did an Island Tour Samana with Terry and had a great time. Here is the a link to another cc thread about it http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=921059

We had 20 people on the tour of the island included lunch and drinks for $50 each. We had 2 vehicles that held 10 each. It was an open back truck with bench seats on both sides. The tours are flexible to do what you want.
