We will be traveling on the equinox and would like any suggestions for shore excursions in Turkey and Ephesus. We have heard that if you do a ship excursion that you get roped into a long rug demonstration and we dont want that

Yes, yes and yes, boring rug demos and if you need a restroom before arriving at Ephesus (about 2 hour drive) forget it, no toilets on board and long lines (pay) when you arrive. So skip your morning coffee.

On the up side, at the rug sales, they serve lovely apple tea and cakes, still not worth the wait while everyone mills around pretending to be interested.
