rjnewbie Posted February 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2010 My DW and I are going to be on the Monarch of the Seas on Oct. 25 – 29, 2010. Being this is our very first cruise we would like suggestions on what to do in Nassau for a couple in their early 60’s. We there 40 years ago on our honeymoon; I’m sure it has changed a lot since then.

Being this is our very first cruise we would like suggestions on what to do in Nassau for a couple in their early 60’s. We there 40 years ago on our honeymoon; I’m sure it has changed a lot since then. Most of the cab drivers are very friendly and knowledgeable about Nassau. I suggest that you find a nice driver and just tell him/her: Show us everything! Negotiate the price up front.
Trainman-2 Posted February 28, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2010 I agree! Start with a ride to the top of the hill and take the elevator up to the top of the Water Tower to enjoy the view. Then walk down the Queen's Staircase and have your driver meet you there at the bottom. Ask him for a tour of the City's historical spots.

What would you say that a reasonable cab fare for this type of tour would be??? We are not very good at bartering...:o
JDsafeman Posted February 28, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2010 For $25 per person you can get a 2 hour guided tour of the area including a 30 minute visit to Atlantis. As said earlier, most of the cab drivers are very friendly. If you want a recommendation ask for Sam Williams. He calls himself "Sam I Am". We were there 02/11/2010. Have Fun! cb at sea Posted March 1, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2010 Or, stay on the ship while everyone else is off of her! It's a great day to use that which you've paid to use! Private yacht...that's the feeling!
txcowboy10 Posted March 1, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2010 Earlier this year it was $4.00 one-way cash cab ride over to Atlantis, where you can go through the "Dig" underground aquarium (this costs extac though but worth the $$ I think), enjoy their large and beautiful casino, or head out to the shark tank or beach to enjoy for the day.
