First, it is dudette. And I think you have it backwards. But I have waxed philosophical enough for this forum. Nevertheless, I have in fact found this eye-opening. I sometimes forget how insular my circle of friends is. It can really be fascinating.......

I think we can agree to disagree.

And "dude" is gender neutral.

There's only one type of male that wears capris. I definately don't fall under that category.

Manpris

If you want to go out dressed like you come from the ghetto by all means knock yourself out. It is becoming more prevalant these days. A lot of people wear them to the mall. America is just becoming dumber and trashier by the minute.

Not quite....

A cruise is a closed environment... Wearing a capris set which you will never even know they are PJs is fine.. What is trashy is you feel it's ok to speak this way.

Im not from the ghetto by any means, Im from "tha Holler". I even make jam and jelly, and twice in my life,Ive been barefoot and pregnant too. The nerve of me,huh, wantning to leave the holler and explore my world, huh? Here's what I think of what you wrote, "Bless your heart!" How do you know Im not working on my Masters in History? WHat you said was down right hateful and youre WRONG for it.

Good for you!

Then it's called a poncho.

Then it's called a sheath dress.

Why not? You aren't wearing it, what do you care? Seriously, I'm not being antagonistic, but what does it matter to you? If you don't like what someone is wearing, avert your eyes. Hell, if you saw some of the fashion vicitims who parade around my office every day, you'd be praying for pjs compared to the "good clothes" they're wearing.

In some parts of the country, they're the same thing. Lookin' at you, Texas. ;)

Correct. But you don't get to make the rules for everyone. In fact, you get to make the rules only for yourself and your kids. Keep that in mind. Clothes are also a means of self-expression. You have no right to tell anyone else -- other than your own kids, should you own some -- how to express themselves so long as they aren't breaking any public decency laws/ship's rules.

So let me be clear on this- sweat pants mean you have given up on life, but pajamas at the store don't? And yes, cranky kids at 7am can be a problem- it is certainly just this recent generation that has encountered it and resorted to falling out of bed into public to get diapers, etc.

So the breakdown of society continues- anything goes. No shared ideas of what is acceptable, if it isn't written down as a rule then it is ok. And the rules that are written down mostly seem to be a challenge to break them. I guess this is a reflection of what is happening to our society as a whole. And flame as you like, I do find it distressing and wonder where it will lead. Noplace very good I suspect.

But hey- it's your vacation. Anything goes.

TBut50---TT-YC???

Hey you know what? women in the 50s and 60s used to wear CURLERS to the store and to take the kids to school.

Thats a basic grooming function, it didn't make society fall apart at all either:D

Todays pjs look like outfits and vice versa. I bet you'd be hard pressed to pick out pjs as opposed to the outfit if you were given a line up and asked.

I am more concerned with the fact that I saw a swimsuit with a cover up on in the dining room for our last cruise, what does that say about the quality of dress?

But then I just chalked it up to a teenagers angst.

Cheers

With the odds they give you in those casinos they should be offering free hair and make up for chicks.

Still see nothing wrong with it for early morning coffee...

At least they are not chainmail jammies!
