First ever cruise what room??

This is my first time on a Cruise ship, not too sure what to expect.

Iam on the Carnival Destiny Key West/ Cozumel for 4 nights this March 4th

My question is I have an ocean view room guarantee what is the best

location to be on the ship I am not excepting to get a really choice but if I show up early will i get a better floor and room????? I am not sure if any

of us are going to be sea sick so is it better to be higher up or lower down on the ship???? or any other suggestions for anything else that I should be aware of my docking time says 4pm what time should i get to Miami at?????

you will get as many different answers as there are rooms...

 

I would say middle of the ship and the floor does not matter ....

The lower you are to the water and closer to the middle of the ship, the less motion you will have from the ship rocking.

 

I normally try to make sure I'm at the cruise terminal by noon...

 

You should get a room assignment several weeks out from your cruise.

.....Carnival picks it for you. If you want to pick your own you'll have to pick a different rate.

You won't get to change at embarkation, as Carnival says, "we sail full." Your room will be assigned a few weeks in advance. If you're worried about it, change now to avoid being disappointed. Lower, mid ship is least motion.

I am not too pickey but I do like the 1A or Porthole cabins. My preferance is cabins above and cabins below. Less chance of stray noise that way.
