Trouble with U.S Money Order in St. Thomas?

Hi..

 

I'm getting married in St. Thomas in April and sent in all of my documents with a $100 U.S. dollar money order that I purchased at the Post Office. I just received a call stating that they cannot cash Canadian money orders, purchased at the post office, even though it's in U.S. dollars???? They asked me to go and purchase one from a bank instead and resend.

 

Has anyone had this issue before?
