Crown Paradise versus Dreams PV for one-day pass?

We're a family of 3 who will be in PV at the end of March via our cruise on the Carnival Splendor. We'd like to take our 11-year-old son to one of the resorts for their one-day pass so he can enjoy the swimming pool(s) etc. We would love to try the Dreams but the price of $145 for a 6-hour pass for the three of us does not sound too appealing. Another choice would be the Crown Paradise for which I was quoted $105 so a little cheaper. Anyone have any thoughts which would be the best choice of these two or possibly another resort to suggest keeping cost in mind and the fact that our son loves swimming. We're open to suggestions. Thank you.

Another place that cruisers go to is Krystals. I've never been, but have heard that it's nice and only a 10 min walk from the pier.

There's no entrance fee, but you pay for food and drinks. Here's an email from them and their website

Miss XXXX,

We don’t have a cost only you have to pay all the food and beverage that you take went you stay in the hotel

Regard’s

Seems, the main advantage of Crown is that is it right next the cruise pier. The main advantage of dreams is that it's location in a serene jungle/cove. (picturesque cove with jungle mountains rising above, and great reported service).

The resorts next to the cruise pier are relatively boring in tropical ambiance. An 11 year old boy may prefer the nearby "pool now" ambiance over the brutal long cab ride to Dreams. If the young man has patience and would likely prefer the more picturesque tropical ambiance, then Dreams. Seems we would think... Is he the kind of kid that plays outside, or plays video games? Thus, prefers to play outside = dreams, prefers to plays video games = Crown. Either way PV is great!

Crown is the first resort adjacent to the cruise pier (middle right of pic). Krystal is just past the nearest highrises in the background

Dreams is a much nicer resort in everyway :) For $40 more I would go to Dreams, taxi cost us 130 in pesos from DREAMS to airport so am thinkin git would be about the same??

Beach is private and lovely, food and drink is top notch as well. They had a lot of child friendly toys with the trampoline, ocean trampoline, rock wall, pools are not thge super duper mile long pools you see in the Mayan or Nuevo but they are certainly big and one has a swim up bar.

Never been to CP but the beach wouldn't be nearly as nice, CP does have alot of favourites through in TA.

Cab ride is about 20-25 mins to Dreams depending on traffic
