2 ?'s. RCCL AO and Snorkeling

At what age can children have sign out privilages on RCCL?

 

Also does anyone have suggestions for a non bulky life vest for my 10 yo son for snorkeling. He is a great swimmer but in the ocean I would rather he have some additional support but something he can still get his face in the water to snorkel properly.

At 9, children can sign themselves in and out with parent's permission.

 

If you're doing a snorkling excursion, they will have vests to use...thin, but bouyant.

I am familiar with the snorkeling vests and just trying to decide if my son should have something a little "stronger"? but he will be close to one of us at all times so that may be enough.
