daryleann Posted March 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2010 We cruise out of Barcelona in Oct with one day in Rome. In order to see more, we are looking into going into Rome 3 days early then just doing say the Vatican on our one day in port. What advice for 'cheap European airlines' do you have for us to go from Rome to BCN? Have heard lots of stories but no experience. Doers this seem to make sense? It's a long way for only the 2 weeks, and we have been to BCN, and will stay over one day after cruise. Thanks for any help.
ab0si Posted March 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2010 Your three choices for non-stops will be Vueling, Iberia, and Alitalia. Vueling is likely to be the least expensive, but make sure you understand all the charges and baggage rules for all the airlines before making your choice. We flew from Venice to Catania last August for 81E (taxes included) with AIR ONE...it was operated by ALITALIA but cheaper to go through the AIR ONE website. I found the "off" hours much cheaper but, the main hub is Rome so you may get an even better deal...Good Luck! We also looked into a website called MYAIR and another one called RYAN AIR (Not sure if Ryan Air flies into Rome), which had some really good prices.... nfowife Posted March 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2010 check skyscanner.net for the best look at the low-cost European airlines. It just gives you schedules and times and links you directly to the airline's website to book with the airline.
