md10074 Posted March 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2010 We are taking a Western Caribbean cruise and one stop is Grand Caymen. My kids would like to see the dolphins, but my 7 year old and I don't know how to swim. Does the "dolphin encounter" excursion listed on Carnival's website involve actual swimming or just being in the water? I don't mind being in water up to my waist or so, but if you have to swim out to meet them, I can't do it.:(
Lady_Jag Posted March 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2010 Hi! Usually an "encounter" is where you stand on a platform and interact with the dolphins (no swimming.) A Dolphin "Swim" involves swimming with the dolphins. That said, all dolphin excursions, encounter and swim, will include life vests for each person in the group.
