7 mile beach for lunch...recommendations

Cruising Solstice in July and have been to 7 mile beach years ago. Looking for the best lunch spot on the beach. We will take a cab from cruise port and need to know where be dropped off. Looking for casual, excellent local fare and good drinks.

Actually Lobster Pot is within walking distance of the cruise tender docks, and a long way before reaching Seven Mile Beach. It is right on the water, but there is no sand to be had. It has a popular boat launching ramp with easy paved access to the water if you are so inclined.

Alfresco is at the far northern end of Seven Mile Beach overlooking the section known as the West Bay Public Beach. That is probably the best option for "local" fare on the beach. There are other places offering lunch on the beach but it is decidedly tourist fare.

Thanks for the correction. I knew there was a spot up toward the end of the beach, but the Lobster Pot was the only thing I could remember. Last time there we went to the hole in a wall place near the Texaco station, forgot it's name, and Chicken Chicken, but neither are on the beach.

The Lobster Pot is up at the farther end of SMB. http://www.lobsterpot.ky/

And the Reef Grill is at the Royal Palms. http://www.reefgrill.com/

For lunch casual is probably fine but both of these places may not be ideal for beach wear though.

The Reef was filled with people in just their bathing suits/coverups, as it's directly on the beach. The menu was small, expensive (what isn't on GC? LOL) and food just so-so, but we didn't starve and it was convenient.
