Jitney - Exact Change?

I beleive I have read quite a few posts stating to make sure you have exact change when riding the Jitneys in Nassau.

 

Is it still 1.25 pp?

 

Since I am a family of 4 could you give the driver 5.00 or is it like the subway in NYC where you have to pay one at a time and put the exact amount in per person?

 

Any help would be appreciated!

A $5 bill will do fine. They just don't want to make change.

Yeah - since you pay a jar when you get off, that's sort of what we did. We rode the #10 Jitney round robin and paid for both directions for the two of us at once with a $5 bill when we got off.
