rsharma1033 Posted March 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2010 Hello, We'll be sailing on board the Freedom and heading to San Juan, Nassau, Tortola, Antigua and St. Thomas. We're travelling with a 2 and 5 year old. I've never been to any of those ports and am not sure what the transportation situation is like. Some questions i have are: Do they use seatbelts everywhere? Can you install carseats in the vehicles? I'm guessing the vehicles don't have that universal anchor system...??? What do you do with Taxis and other modes of transport? Does anyone know of a good portable car seat? If you take your own carseat along, do you lug it to the beach and along for your excursions? I'm really not sure what to do. jbknits Posted March 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2010 I personally wouldn't use this for every day, but would for travel: http://www.amazon.com/RideSafer-Car-Seat-Travel-Vest/dp/B000KCV61U You would still need a regular seat for the 2 year old. Costco scenera's are cheap and lightweight. I don't know the different port requirements, but I personally wouldn't be comfortable with no carseat unless on a bus, but I'm sure people do that. crusingcouple Posted March 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2010 Wow...I wouldn't have thought about the excursions. Yet another reason our 18 month will be staying with grandma and grandpa :D
