dnrcim Posted March 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2010 My family of four (2 girls ages 8 and 5) are going on a 5 day Glory cruise to Canada out of NY this summer. I'm a little confused about something...Is there a formal dinner night on this cruise since it is only 5 days? If so, how formal is formal? Thanks.... They have something called "Cruise Elegant Night". You can read the official dress guidelines here: http://www.carnival.com/CMS/FAQs/Dress_Attire.aspx But in a nutshell: Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Dress slacks, dress shirts. We also suggest a sport coat. If you wish to wear suits and ties or tuxedos, by all means we invite you to do so. Ladies - Cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses; if you‘d like to show off your evening gowns, that's great too! Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Elegant dinner for ladies and gentlemen: shorts, gym shorts, T-shirts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, jeans, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men, sportswear, and baseball hats. nybumpkin Posted March 18, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2010 On the 5-day Canada cruise, "elegant" night will be the first sea day.
dnrcim Posted March 22, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted March 22, 2010 Thanks....:) One more question...Are children welcome to these elegant nights? From the website given to me about the dress code, it doesn't list the children's attire...My children will be 8 and 5 by then... For reasons unknown, twice I've done the 5 day to Canada, and they threw 2 "formal" nights at us. This was 10 years ago though.
