shortm Posted March 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2010 We've finally done it and booked Freedom of the Seas, sailing from Port Canaveral, for a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise. It will just be me, my husband and our 15 month old daughter. I'm trying to get organised as we haven't got long to go. We will need to have a carseat with us, is there anywhere to store it other than having it take up lots of room in the cabin ? Are there any tips / things I should know before we go ? We're on deck 2 in an outside cabin, unfortunately we didn't have any choice as this was all that was available ? Are there any pros and cons that I should be aware of ? Formal nights, I'm not sure I can be bothered, that's something that's really changed since having a baby as before I'd have jumped at the chance to get dressed up. Are there alternative dinner options on formal nights ?
cb at sea Posted March 18, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2010 On formal nights, you can use the WJ, which is casual all the time, or one of the "specialty restaurant", which is "smart casual" everynight. (There is a fee for the specialties!) Baby will be WELCOME in the dining room, even on "formal" nights....dress up and take her! The waitstaff dote on babies! Being so young, you don't even have to "dress her up"...she's a baby! Go--enjoy! You should be able to find a corner to stow the carseat...the rooms are well-planned out... The only "con" for the deck 2 cabins is having to use the elevator everytime you want to come and go....they can be slow. Other than that, the cabins are pretty much identical...it will be fine.
