Surfing in Kona

I've read that the best place in the Kona area to learn to surf is at Kahuluu Beach. Does any one know of a place who teaches surfing? The only one I've found so far is Ocean Eco tours and they seem quite pricey. Any other suggestions? My kids want to learn to surf and we've made plans for most of our other stops. Thanks for your help.

Last time I looked, across the street from Kahalu'u Beach is a house that has a sign that they do surfing lessons. I know other CCers have used them before. I'm sorry though but I don't know the name.

If I am down there anytime in the near future, I'll try to make a point of getting a name or phone number.

Thank you so much. That would be wonderful if you found a name or phone. I'd like to make arrangements ahead of time rather than "Winging it". Thank you for your help! Nancy

I'll try Nancy. I don't get down there very often because I work the opposite direction, but I have a friend who lives near and I'll see if they can get it for me.
