Anyone taken a Turtle farm excursion from vendor at pier?

Has anyone just gotten off the ship and taken a tour from a vender that is waiting at the pier? We are thinking that we may get a better deal if we do not prebook with Boatswain's/Turtle Farm and see if the vendors at the pier have a better deal? Anyone done this before??

I have found that the cruise lines offer a pretty competitive price for the turtle farm. We did not schedule one and ended up just taking a bus and walking in. After all was said and done, it would have cost me the same (or even less) if I had booked with the cruise. However, we did have the advantage of being flexible and stopping at a resort on 7-mile beach to spend some beach time.

The bus cost around $2.50 per person each way. I think the buses labeled 1NW go to the turtle farm from the tender port. Everyone was super nice and helpful.

Good luck!
