There's some info here

http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1171058

on the ports if you want to do your own thing... but it didn't look like there was a lot there, it was an industrial port we docked in nothing picturesque that I recall but I did the trip to Masada and the Dead Sea by coach, you could get a taxi to some shops maybe if you don't want to do the Thomson day trips. Someone will come along with more info for you I'm sure..

Hi I did the trip to Jerusalem and Bethlehem booked on the ship but you can get into the town and from the bus station take a bus to Jerusalem if you prefer to do it yourself there must be plenty of other places to visit as well. Hope you have a fab time .

Thanks

How far is the town/nearest beaches. Is there ashuttle bus to main dock gate?

Don't fancy Jerusalem/Bethlehem.I,m a birdwatcher and prefer a gentle stroll to nearest beach or park.
