Garyorient Posted March 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2010 Not been on MSC before. Going Dover - Hamburg What are the must do/see things on board. Not concerned about negatives or whingers. Holidays are too hard worked for to have people introduce minus points. Where is the best place to spend time after evening meals? Where do you get the best cocktails? Whats casino like? Can you use the Spa/Jacuzzis as part of package or does it cost entrance fee? You know all stuff like that Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. AmoMondo Posted March 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2010 Hi Garyorient I've not been on the Poesia (yet) but do know MSC well. I've answered the questions as best as I can (from my perspective) below Not been on MSC before.Going Dover - Hamburg What are the must do/see things on board. the shows. There may be no stand up comedians because everything needs to cater for 5 languages but they are really well done with very talented people. Try the gelato and the pizza! Read the Daily programme - there are very few announcements onboard so if you want to make most of your time onboard - make sure you know what is happening, They also publish the spa nad drink specials in it. If you enjoy a massage - try the Balines massage with hot volcanic stones - very nice and relaxing. Not concerned about negatives or whingers. Holidays are too hard worked for to have people introduce minus points. Where is the best place to spend time after evening meals? go to the show and then the lounge, bar or disco. They have a number of lounges/bars with very different atmospheres, type of entertainment and some are smoking. So dependent on whether you smoke or not and the type of live enyertainment/music genre you like, pick the one that suits you best - or go for a pub crawl around them all Where do you get the best cocktails? They usually have a bar (normally with piano player) designated as the martini Bar that specialises in cocktails. However you can more or less get the same cocktails at every bar. There will be a cocktail and martini of the day at a reduced proce advertised in the daily program so that gives you a chance to try something new at a reduced price. They also do happy Hours but not in every bar. If there are several of you going and you all drink cocktails, you might want to buy the cocktail package - you get a book of 12 vouchers for the price of 10 and can use them at any bar/lounge. Whats casino like? Sorry don't know, I've not been on this ship and I tend to avoid them on the other ships as I'm not that interested and they are far too smoky for me (I've asthma, so start feeling unwell in very smoky atmospheres) Can you use the Spa/Jacuzzis as part of package or does it cost entrance fee?The jacuzzis around the pool area are free but the thermal are in the spa costs extra on European cruises. They sometimes do an offer for a few sessions at a reduced price or give you them free when you buy a treatment You know all stuff like that Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.
