LiLBxQt Posted June 2, 2004 Author #26 Share Posted June 2, 2004 LOL No need to worry about the waiter! I think my bf talked more about how "great Peter was" than he talked about the entire trip!! LOL I think I should be a lil worried now!! hhahah PS God help you if you are going through some stormy weather with that ship!! We hit some rough seas and I slammed into the wall a few times!! I was walking through a hallway and I was telling my bf "I feel like an idiot cuz I can't walk straight!" & some woman goes "Don't worry! We all feel the same way!" LOL No exaggeration, for 1 whole day, he ship was tilted to one side. It was a struggle when you had to walk uphill, especially after getting a few drinks in ya UnTiL BeRmUdA!!! Host Kewlguy Posted June 2, 2004 #27 Share Posted June 2, 2004 Personally I'm walking around like I'm drunk half the time on land anyway so it won't be too much of an adjustment. Seriously we are stocking up on prescription motion sickness pills now for the September roller coaster ride on the Empress. The secret is to start taking the medication a week before you go on the cruise so by time you get on the ship it's already in your bloodstream. That is why the senior citizens are the only ones roaming around during rough seas. They know this little secret. judyzoo Posted June 5, 2004 #29 Share Posted June 5, 2004 kewlguy, Nope, no inside cabin for us. We have a balcony, aft, up on deck 8. Probably, overall, one of the worst places to be during rough seas. But I'm more worried about what will happen to our house back in Miami if we have a hurricane than I am about the ship in a storm. yarlenna Posted June 5, 2004 #30 Share Posted June 5, 2004 I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the Nordic Empress - AKA Empress of the Seas, I am pleased to hear that she is doing well under her third name. Work like a dog. Live like a pauper. Save all your money. Then Cruise! My gif kitties have gone to cyber heaven so that dial up cruisers don't have a problem getting their posts read. Chuck & Phyllis Posted June 5, 2004 #31 Share Posted June 5, 2004 We too are on the Empress for our 10th cruise to Bermuda on 9/18, the 4th on the Empress. Our first was a balcony, second and third, outside, and with our son starting law school this year and a balcony on the QM2 next spring, we're sailing on the bottom of the boat inside this cruise. Don't mind though, we'll still have a blast. Did you guys sign up for the meet and mingle? See ya's onboard! Squire5000 Posted June 6, 2004 #32 Share Posted June 6, 2004 How did things go at Bayonne? We're interested in what time they started letting people off when you got back.
LiLBxQt Posted June 6, 2004 Author #33 Share Posted June 6, 2004 Bayonne was a breeze! In & out no problem whatsoever. No lines, no hassles! I forget what time they started letting people off, but it was a long wait in the lobbies. Once they started calling the colors though, it moved quickly.
