Pompei- reserve ahead to get into locked villas

We just got back from a cruise with a stop at Pompei. It is possible to make a free reservation online to be admitted to a few of the villas and the suburban baths that are locked and only open by prior reservation. It was amazing to see inside these sites, especially since we were the only ones there. Check out this link

and then prenotazzoni. It's in italian but pretty easy to figure out.

At the appointed time a guard will be there to unlock the door, and then lock it again after you're done.

A super recommendation.

We considered doing this, but simply did not know our timing of when we actually would be at a specific location in this very large complex. Even so, we spent almost five hours at Pompeii, until my spouse literally was falling down on the large street stones!
