Catamaran snorkel?

Does anyone know if it fairly easy to just get off the ship and find a 3 to 4 hour catamaran snorkel excursion without making reservation in advance?

If so, any names in particualr I should be looking for and what type of prices?

We are sailing on the Carnival Destiny and will arrive in Bridgetown Barbados on Wed. Feb 2nd at 7:00am and depart at 10:pm. We prefer an early catamaran excursion (9:00am or 10:00am) if possible.

OOM1,

I can't really help you with this port, but I can tell you that without booking in advance, you may be doing much more legwork hiring a cat (especially if you need them to provide snorkel gear) than sailing and snorkeling.

The easiest way to get this trip is to use the ship's excursion "Barbados Sail, Snorkel and Beach Adventure." It is inexpensive, lasts 4 hours, all gear is provided and it is in the morning (the folks at 800-carnival are helpful if you need exact price, but should be $70-75/person).

What is the motivation in booking your own cat rather than using the ship's excursion?

Read my post on Jolly Rodger or Silver Moon II.

I can say enough about the Silver Moon excursion. There are only 12 people on board which allows plenty of room and interaction with the crew. All the other excursions we saw out there had people packed on every corner of their boat. They are called "splash and dash" excursions. There is little personal attention and little room to move about.

The Silver Moon excursion takes you to see the sea turtles (weather permitting) and lots of time to snorkel. The crew takes you out to the reefs, gives you instructions on snorkeling around the reefs, and then points out various marine life that you may otherwise miss. You cannot be disappointed if you book this trip. I wouldn't recommend waiting until you get in port because another company may try to "squeeze" you on board with the other 50 people they already have.

The Silver Moon's website is http://www.oceanadventures.com

Hi to all, is there a catamaran or a snorkel tour offered by the ship you might be on that is less than 4 hours?? As i heard one of the ships does a catamaran snorkel that is about 2 hours long or maybe 3 hours and that would leave us more time to check out the different parts of the island we want to see. well i wish all my other readers a great trip and a safe one. Remember safety first.
