Altun Ha Mayan Site & River Wallace

This is a tour through Carnival. Anyone been on it? What was your experience like?

We did this one a couple years ago.

 

The ride up the river was in an open boat (no cover) so a hat and lots of sun screen are in order.

 

At the Mayan site a good bug spray with deet is needed. Lots of bugs but with a good spray it is no problem.

 

It was a long excursion but interesting. On the river you see lots of animals. Iguanas, alligators, howler monkeys , bats and birds.

 

For me Mayan ruins are always interesting.

 

It was a long hot day but you get to see a lot of Belize that is off the beaten path.

Sounds like fun! I really think we might do this excursions.

Our bunch did this last April and it was hot but no bug problems. Make sure you bring water and $ to puchase food, it's a long day. This is a good excursion, hope you like it I know they did.:)
