SPARKY123 Posted April 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2010 Anyone know of any resorts in either Cabo, Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta that you can purchase a day pass for pool/beach access? Thanks!
Nightfly Posted April 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2010 In Cabo I know you can use the pool at the Finestera, there may be others? In Mazatlan you can use the El Cid and in PV you can use the pool at the Krystal.
MnAsMom Posted April 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2010 In Mazatlan you can pay for an All Inclusive day pass at the El Cid El Moro. (I think it is around $35) we ended up taking a cab there and just leaving an ID with the desk. They gave us wristbands and allowed us to use the pools and towels and we just paid for drinks/food at the bar. In Puerto Vallarta we paid for a day pass the Dreams Villamagna (up in Nuevo Vallarta) but are hoping to go to the Dreams in Puerto Vallarta this time. It is $58 per person (kids under 12 pay half) Some people go to the Krystal Resort ... you pay for food and drinks and they let you use the pool. I believe there is one other AI that offers day passes to cruise passengers too... Crown Paradise I think? Less expensive than Dreams but not as nice supposedly. In Cabo there has been a lot of discussion on the Finesterra being ok with cruise passengers visiting. I think I recall in the past people said the ME offered day passes? We just took a water taxi over to Medano Beach and hung out at The Office restaurant. It was great! If you do a search or look around you will find info on resorts that offer day passes
LovetheSea Posted April 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2010 I just posted this. I wanted to find out about day passes as well. I heard that Dreams in Puerto Vallarta is very nice. It is located 6 miles South of the port. I Emailed them the other day and got this response... Thank you very much for your interest in our Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa. We are delighted to offer you our special all inclusive (lunch, drinks, facilities, activities and more) day pass at $58 US dollars per adult, children from 2 to 12 years old pay half. We are located 6 miles South from the Marina Pier and the taxi far should be from $12 to $20 US dollars. All depends on the vehicle. We are looking forward to welcoming you on the 20th of April in our Dreams. It is our pleasure, Gregorio Robles Head Concierge Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resorts & Spa Tel. cereo Posted April 16, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 16, 2010 I am a little confused. It sounds like there two options for some or all of the resorts...option 1 is to purchase an all-inclusive (AI) excursion and get facilities/food/drinks for around $35-$60 and option 2 is to show your cruise ship card and buy your own drinks/food and the resort will let you use their pool/restrooms/beach/etc. Am I understanding this correctly or is there information I am missing or mistaken about? MnAsMom Posted April 20, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 20, 2010 At the Finesterra you just go there and buy your own... they let you use the pool. In Mazatlan the El Cid will try to sell you a day pass ... we just told them we would like to pay for food and drinks as we go... they were ok with this. There is the RIU in Mazatlan too.... check these boards... but this is a pay for a day pass option. In PV you pay for a day pass at Dreams. Crown Paradise offers a day pass for $35... when I emailed them they did not respond with an option to just buy food or drinks rather than paying for a day pass. You can go to the Krystal and they will either let you in free or you pay something like 20 or 25 dollars but they apply that to food or drinks at the resort.
