Jaymee287 Posted April 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2010 This is our first cruise and we just upgraded from an interior on the riviera deck to a 7A obstructed balcony on the upper deck, for $20 per person then the balcony price dropped $50 so when it all boils down we are only paying $10 for the 3 of us so like $3.33 each! LUCK US! My question is what is the space like in the room? As to how many drawers we have? Closets? Shelves in the bathroom? etc. You get the idea. If you have any info please let us know! DocF Posted April 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2010 All balcony staterooms are pretty much the same. You have a convertible bed (twins/king), tow end tables, a desk/vanity with four drawers, three hanging lockers, on of which has several shelves rather than hanging space. There are several small shelving areas. The head (bathroom) has a fairly large vanity top and several small shelves above which can hold a lot of toiletries and similar. There is usually a sofa and coffee table. This can be a convertible in which case the bedding is stowed under the seat. There is a whole lot packed into 185 sq. feet. We cruise with just the two of us and we never feel crowded. You made a good decision. We like the restricted view balconies as they are a huge bang for the buck. Ours have been not very restricted view too. Doc
firefly333 Posted April 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2010 As far as I know the inside cabins and balconys are both 185 s.f. inside .. you just have the extra balcony. I think we had 4 drawers, one of which was thin with a hair dryer maybe, pretty unusable ... so really only three drawers. You will have three sections of closet, two of which have hangers, might only have a half size in one. Iv had one whole section of the shelves with only one shelf ... so some cabins seem to be better than others, as far as whats usuable and not broken. One part of the closet will have the safe, so thats not usuable for storage, but above and below it might be a little space, if the muster jackets arent stored there. We only stay two in a cabin, so we have plenty of space. Hangers are in short supply, we have to double up. We hang up tee shirts so the wrinkles come out in the moist air.
