Intercontinental questions

I booked the Intercontinental for 4/24 on priceline for $111, but after checking out hotel website noticed a $40 per each add'l person after 2. I have 4 in our party and was hoping for 2 double beds. Has anyone stayed there and had this issue? Also will be arriving at 11am, do you think they would hold luggage until room is ready?

We have stayed at the Intercontinental twice but only with two people in a room. I would call the resort directly and talk to them about needing two double beds. They will definitely hold your luggage until your room is ready and will also allow you to use the facility (including pool/beach/casino).

Here's an off the wall question. I ran into this a lot when I was researching hotels. Just exactly what do they mean by a double bed? We have twin, double, queen and king. Double to me means the old-fashioned 48" wide bed most people had before the queen and king came along. I booked a double bed at the Intercontinental assuming they meant at least a queen. :confused:

I emailed the hotel requesting a king bed and proof of confirmation because I booked the hotel through Priceline. Here is the email I used and received a quick response.

the double beds at the Intercontinental are very small...Full size, not queen.

Unfortunately, they probably mean a double, a/k/a full! I stayed at the Intercontinental in Buckhead (Atlanta) a couple of years ago, very nice hotel, and their beds were only doubles! It was a bit of a surprise to me, I really assumed they would be queen too!

We are at the Intercontinental right now. We have a king size bed with a sofabed. Nice rooms too!
