Hotel for family of 4 in Barcelona?

You might want to check with the Hotel Colon (our normal hotel when we are in Barcelona) where they have several options to get 4 into a room. That hotel also has a perfect location right in the heart of the Gothic Quarter across the street from the Cathedral. If you do book, make a request for a Cathedral View room if available.

We had four people at the Hispanos Siete Suiza in a two bedroom/two bath apartment + living room, dining area, kitchen for less than the price of two hotel rooms. Great location near Sagrada Familia near two subway stops, groceries, take-outs, cafes, shops, etc. Also, if you have younger kids, there is a park around the corner across the street from Sagrada Familia.

Best,

Mia

We booked last year with Rivoli Ramblas right on Las Ramblas. Price was very good and they had both triple and quad rooms. The quad is considered a suite, but the price was still very reasonable. Not sure when you are going but, last August we had 2 triples (for our family of 5) that also included a buffet breakfast for around $300 for both. It is listed as a four star, but I would say it was more of a 3 star...but very clean, and in a perfect location.

Traveling with four people in one room in Europe is always a bit of a challenge. We stayed at the Avenida Palace hotel in Barcelona. It's in a great location on the Gran Via de Las Cortes, at the end of La Rambla, near metro stops, great shopping, and two of Gaudi's apartment buildings.

We are booked at Avenida Palace in June. What is the hotel itself like? I know the location is great, but how about the hotel itself? Did you have the breakfast buffet? We have booked a mini suite. Trip advisor shows favourable remarks, but it is listed as a 4 star....is it?

We were there 5 years ago, and I would rate it a 4-star hotel. It's where the Beatles stayed when they toured Barcelona, albeit a few decades back! But it's still pretty nice. We did eat at the breakfast buffet one morning, and it was good but expensive. There are many great restaurants within a block, so we tried other options after that.
