Hi, I am trying to book travel insurance for our upcoming cruise. Cost of the cruise is $2500 for 4 family members, ages 47, 47, 21 & 18. I would like med evac coverage (with a high limit) with payment direct from the insurance company. I do not want (and cannot:rolleyes:)pay in advance for this service should we need it and then be reimbursed later. I would also like a preexisting condition waiver, I am still within the 21 day initial payment timeline. An A+ rating would be great too... I would also like to consider a cancel for any reason policy.

If anyone can help, I would be so grateful. This is so confusing....

thanks,

Julie

re concern #1 the pre-payment of an emergency evacuation. They all do that. In fact, if you do not let them make all of the arrangements and take care of the billing you risk voiding or severely limiting your coverage. For example, this is from an Access America plan:

"You must make all emergency medical transportation arrangements described below through us. We can deny a claim for emergency transportation if we didn't authorize and arrange it.. . .

We'll only cover the cost of your emergency medical evacuation if we authorize and arrange:

• your transportation, and

• the medical escort (if you need one). . .

. . . We'll only cover the cost of your medical repatriation if we authorize and arrange your

transportation."

Other than that, there's many plans that should meet your needs. TravelSafe, Travelex, Travel Guard, eyc,
