MrPete Posted April 20, 2010 #51 Share Posted April 20, 2010 The bars on board were still open at night though right ? And the day!
octagonmike Posted April 20, 2010 #52 Share Posted April 20, 2010 And the day! So when the OP said "everything on board is shut" that wasn't strictly true ? So the evenings in port in Bermuda are exactly the same as any other night except that the Casino is closed right ?

BobKat406 Posted April 20, 2010 Author #54 Share Posted April 20, 2010 Yes - the bars are open but the promenade shops and the casino are closed. I posted the compasses so you can see what activities were available. There wasn't a lot going on in the ship the night we were in port.

Did they have the flea market and the entertainment next to the church tower, AKA the Dockside festival? Or is it too earlyin the season for that? NordicPrince Posted April 21, 2010 #59 Share Posted April 21, 2010 Hey, How come you don't have to wear the life jackets anymore for the abandon ship drill? In case of an emergency they want to get you to a prearranged assembly point called your muster station. That is the drill that you are doing. Once you are at the muster station in a realistic situation you could be given any variety of instructions:go to a certain place in the ship, go back to your cabins and stay there until further notice, actually get in a lifeboat etc. You don 't actually practice getting into a lifeboat do you? "Abandon ship drill" gives me visuals of people being shown how to walk off the side of the ship, not jumping, and holding onto the bottom of the life vest so it doesn't come flipping off over your head. Of course you would have a few crew and volunteers show you how its done. Just get your camera ready, you wouldn't want to miss that one!

BobKat406 Posted April 21, 2010 Author #61 Share Posted April 21, 2010 No flea market/entertainment. Apparently this doesn't start until late May early June near the clocktower. There was a headliner show at 7:45 for all guests. As far as I know there was music in the lounges.

Usually, the CD coordinates the show off the ship, which some comedians, jugglers, some local talent, all with this as your backdrop: Our last visit, passing rain moved the entertainment into the show lounge. BobKat406 Posted April 21, 2010 Author #63 Share Posted April 21, 2010 MrPete - what a great picture. I was pretty disappointed that a lot of the stuff I looked up wasn't ready because it was too early in the season. I believe we were the first ship to dock at King's wharf for the season. I know better for next time. I will definitely not go again unless it's in June/July.
