Smoking on Carnival Glory

My husband and I are going on the Glory in Jan. for a B2B cruise. We have traveled on Carnival before and other than a few places smoking hasn't been a problem. On one board there was a post about how there was smoking everywhere on the ship. The last cruise there was no smoking on the elevators or public rooms has this now changed? I have a problem with smoking it affects my lungs and I get sick. In the past I just have avoided the area's that have smoking in them especially the casino's. Has anyone cruised on this ship lately?

hi, this is the smoking rule for carnival

Carnival

All dining areas of Carnival's ships are non-smoking, as well as the aft cabaret lounge, main show lounge, library and along the promenade. Carnival's new spa staterooms aboard the Carnival Splendor have also been designated as non-smoking. Guests booked in these staterooms agree to comply with these restrictions. Guests who are found smoking in a spa stateroom will incur a $250 reconditioning fee that will be applied to their Sail and Sign account. Smoking is permitted in all other areas of Carnival's ships including casinos, dance clubs, piano bars and other live music venues, as well as designated areas on open decks

We were on the Glory 4 times since last Septmber ("09). Carnival allows smoking only on the starboard (right) side of the decks. If you see someone smoking on the port side just point out the no smoking signs. We like deck 12 in the bow, never aware of smoke and there is an overhang for shade for my husband and sun for me. There is also a bar on the starboard side for sodas and drinks along with water fountains for water.

Inside they have a lot of 'no smoking' cards on tables. If smoking is allowed you'll see lots of ash trays on tables.

If you smell any sign of smoke in your cabin go to the purser's desk and tell them. They should have the room steward get rid of any smoke smells. They have a spray that will do this. If you still smell smoke go back and tell them but I doubt you will.

I was wondering about inside the ship like the elevators and corridors. On the Legend there was no smoking in the elevators or the corridors. There was a lounge just outside the dining room that was open concept and there was no smoking there.

Havent been on any elevators lately (on land or cruise ship) that have ever allowed smoking in them. Corridors are not supposed to be smoked in, but it does happen I assure you.
