Boarding in Aux at Princes Wharf

We boarding Sun on sunday 25th. Boarding opens 1pm - 3pm. Sailaway at 4pm. Never having been to Prince's Wharf before, can someone tell me whether we should be there way before 1pm, line up (?) and try and get on early, or just rock up at 2pm and no problems boarding? How long does it all take?

 

If we are at Wharf early, can we drop off our suitcases early eg 11am and then go for lunch in the city (we fly into Aux at 10am from Chch)

We joined the line about 11.30 & they took the bags from us. As soon as they opened the gate we were in the first group to go to the terminal & it was pretty straightforward from there

P&O are very quick, if you rock up at Noon you'll get on straight away and get to have lunch on them rather than pay up town.

On two of the three occasions we have left from Akl our bags beat us to our cabin.

They do it very well here and are very well organised..

Boarding for us has always been quick as long as everyone in front of you has done their paper work!

 

We are in Auckland at 10 am too ... flying at 7.10 from CHCH.. prob. see you on the bus to town! If you get a return shuttle ticket it has an open time for re use and saves a few $ too.

With regards to getting from Auckalnd Airport to the city, Avis do a one-way car relocation deal for $19 that includes 60km and petrol. The Avis depot in town is only a few blocks away from Princes Wharf. Check the specials on their website.
