Sapphire Princess Plaza Deck P305

Hey there, I just received a last minute bump up from an E cabin on Emerald Deck to a D on Plaza.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these cabins on the Sapphire and, in particular if your might be able to confirm the layout.

I know most of the Sapphire obstructeds are laid out like this:

But I really really love the other oceanview layout which I experienced on the Golden:

I'm assuming the Sapphire layout for P305 is like picture A, but not-so-silently hoping it's really like picture B.

Can anyone tell me which to expect? It helps for planning power cords, etc.

Thanks!

Mike

I've inquired about the D category cabins on deck 5 (Sapphire) and understand that the ones that have quad occupancy, at least, are like the first picture you posted (with lower bed(s) under the window). I don't know how the double-occupancy cabin beds are configured...

Yeah, I expect it will be like the first picture. I get so much more usable space when it's laid out the other way though, so I was hoping.

I travel with a friend and with twin beds, we end up with the bedside tables and their lights right in the middle, so it doesn't give you the chance to sit at the window.

In the other layout, I can sit at the desk in my robe with my coffee and do some work while still enjoying the view. I really enjoyed it on the Golden to Hawaii. It seems you have even more cabin room than a balcony since you don't have to worry about keeping the chairs out of the way of the sliding doors.

But any day onboard beats a normal day at work regardless of the cabin layout. :)

I don't know about that particular Plaza deck cabin on the Sapphire but I was in P220 on the Sapphire in February and it was like your second picture where the beds were against the wall instead of the window. I really liked because when I was laying on my side in bed I could see a beautiful veiw of the sky. So, sorry can't help you on your particular cabin but wanted to give you hope that there is a chance!

Have a lovely time on the Sapphire

Alas, P305 was not laid out the way I prefer, but it was still very functional with lots of desktop space. I'll attache a couple of pix for the next folks looking for info on it.

Did Princess finally put hooks on the walls or did you bring them yourself? What a great way to store things!

Hey Spingal, I brought the hooks myself. They're a part of my cabin organization scheme. They are the 3M removable, though I also did pick up some strong magnetic hooks on this trip too.

My routine is: 4 hooks for 4 black micro-mesh bags - one for patters, one for shore shopping, maps, and excursion tickets, one for the sales fliers and general stuff Princess is always putting in our mailbox, and one for photos and mementos.

Then one hook for my ball-cap and sunglasses, one for my cruise card on a lanyard, and one for my cameras. Another one goes in the bathroom on the far wall for my lightweight robe as my travel buddy usually ends up using both door hooks and will absentmindedly put her wet towels on my robe. :D

Finally, on the mirror, I put two 3M document clips. The one up high holds the current day's patter plus any current city shorex maps or the disembarkation sheets, the one down low holds current shorex tickets, Captains Circle Invitations, customs cards and other things we don't want to lose sight of.

Sometimes we add a third clip to put messages that we pass on to each other saying where we'll be or what our daily itinerary is. Since we stared syncing our iPhones with our individual shipboard calendars in Outlooks, we haven't needed to do that too much.

It helps keep me under control - I'm actually terribly disorganized in real life, but manage to pull it all together on a cruise. I really should live in one of those cabins permanently.

I appreciate the pictures... We'll be in P303 in a few weeks and I imagine it's very similar (if not exactly the same). The beds could be put together to form a "queen", correct? You just chose to keep them separated? I hope your cruise was a good one!

It should be just the same only flipped, with the hallway running down the other side. And yes, the beds do go together, but I was traveling with an old friend. Besides, I don't share a bed well. :D

That is GREAT!!! My next cruise is in September on the Crown and I am adding the hooks and clips to my packing list. Thanks for the information! :D

Just got off the CB and we were in P214. We loved the location!

Our cabin was set up more like the first picture you posted. there were bars on the window segmenting it into 3rds (instead of just one bar halving the window).

Enjoy your cruise

Mike,

Did you like Plaza deck? I will be in P242 on my Emerald February cruise and am curious about the location. Is it quiet? Did you ever hear the stabilizers? I was on the Golden to Hawaii in November and we were having dinner one night in Crown Grill on deck 6. The stabilizers were making A TON of noise as they came to the surface of the water. I must admit that made me worry about my cabin selection for the Emerald!!!:eek:

Thanks for any information you can share. :D

P305 was pretty quiet, I can't say I heard the stabilizers, but I did hear the bow thrusters when we were entering and leaving the ports. They weren't load but you knew they were on. We were also right over the forward 4 deck gangway / tender operations spot, but I can't say the noise was intrusive.

Overall, I really enjoyed Plaza deck and would book there again in a heartbeat. Convenient to the atrium and the anytime dining rooms, a quick elevator ride to the spa spool, close to the casino (too close - I lost way too much money on an addictive penny machine), close to the gangways, overall just a good location.

The cabins on plaza are mostly laid out like the first picture. If I remember there were two cabins laid out like the second picture. We did a back to back and when we were in port we got to see in all the cabins on the starboard side of the ship they were doing mass change over of sheet to get the cabins ready. We got to be on board during that time. We like the layout of the second pict and check it out to book one the next time around. Now I don't remember what cabins they were but I thin it was P333 and P335 We were in P337. Don't hold me to this I forgot where I put the list we made of them.

I have another question for you, Buddy604... This oceanview cabin will be our first non-balcony so I apologize if this seems silly ;) but do the windows in the category D cabins on deck 5 of the Sapphire actually slide open? I'd love a way to get some fresh air in the room!

I wish they did, but unfortunately, they don't.
