luvbrady Posted April 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2010 So, we're heading to FL with the kids to visit some family and are thinking while we are there we might try to hop a short cruise. For those of you who live near ports- how does that work? Show up and see if there is room? Call the night before? Are there any good discounts? Thanks- any advice would be helpful. Of course, if we had our hearts set on it we would book now. We just thought it might be fun- especially if we can get something on the cheap
RoofingPrincess Posted April 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2010 The days of being able to show up at the port with a suitcase and a hopeful expression are long gone. Security is much tighter than it used to be. You might be able to book a cruise on a few days' notice, however, by checking the cruise line's website or with a travel agent. Thus ,I would say last minute might be a week or two before a ship sails . You should check it out directly with the cruise line you want to sail .
