We are on a diamond cruise in August and can anyone tell us if we can check our bags from the room to our home airport? Or do we have to carry them to the airport? We remember something about also checking them at the dock. We are not taking princess air. we will be ending in Whittlier.

They had it last season, it also depends on the airline.

Each year there are different participants.

I believe the captain's circle news letter talk about a new program to ship your luggage home. It was expensive though-- over $200.00 to do so. Unless you have a physical impairment I wouldn't bother. Whittier is small, you can see the whole town from the port essentially. When your ship arrives you will out number the towns people 8 -1 or more. You will have only a short walking distance with your luggage. However, make sure you arrange transportation from Whittier to Anchorage airport. It is approximately 60 miles from Whittier to Anchorage airport. It will take approx 1 1/2 hours to get there. Talk with Princess, They may do luggage transfer for you if you use their rail service or ground transportation.
