DanaMarie Posted May 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2010 I am going to attempt a review of our cruise. Cruisers are myself, Dana, my hubby Joey, my mom Jane, my dad Michael, my mother in law Thelmi, and my father in law George. This all started last year when I wanted to go on the Legend again for our 2 year anniversary. My parents decided they wanted to go and then Joeys parents decided they wanted to go so we made it into a family vacation. We chose the Legend because we live about 45 minutes away from Tampa so its easy for us to get a taxi and go. Day 1 Tampa Woke up and got to my moms house around 8:00. Joeys mom and George got there about 10 mins later. Ate bagels and cream cheese with coffee. Taxi came around 9:20. Joey likes to mess with my mom and say that this is his chair. Some of the luggage The ride to the port was a little scary so I occupied my time with taking pictures out the window even though Iv seen these things a thousand times. Airplane Had to get off the Suncoast and onto I275
DanaMarie Posted May 3, 2010 Author #2 Share Posted May 3, 2010 Port There she is . Got there around 10:30. Gave luggage to porter. Checked in – no lines. Got bording zone 2. Sat in the chairs and waiting. Looking at the ship from the windows They started boarding the wedding parties and VIP at 11:30. We got called around 1140 and with a ding of our sail and sign card we were on board by 1145. Went straight to Lido for lunch. Hubby had a smoked salmon on a bagel with cream cheese ( he is addicted to these bagels, yuck)MIL had a arugula, tomato, and mozzeralla wrap, FIL had a Pastrami on Rye. For some reason I cant remember what anyone else had including myself. DM, DH, and I had Funship Specials. Joey and me Mom and Dad
DanaMarie Posted May 3, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted May 3, 2010 After lunch we went to check out the rooms. Both parents were mad because we had the extra long balcony(LOL). We were in room 5236, My parents in 5230, and his parents in 5239. Our room - notice how the first thing hubby does is jump on the bed. Balcony We went back up on Lido for awhile and then DH and I went back to the room, unpacked, and watched sail away from our balcony. Bye Tampa! DanaMarie Posted May 3, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted May 3, 2010 We had early seating dinner. Dinner got a little screwed up, for some reason they had us and my inlaws at one table and my parents at a table for 2 on the other floor. Matrie D fixed it for the rest of the week but this night we had to eat separate. Our waiters tonight were just ok - nothing special. It was good that we did get moved because our new waiters were just fantastic but Ill get to that later. DH had the Chicken Fingers for an app and the Mahi Mahi for dinner. I had Beef and Barley soup and Chicken a la Greque. MIL had fruit and Mahi Mahi and FIL had Shrimp Cocktail and Sweet and Sour Shrimp. Mom had Shrimp Coctail and Linguni and Dad had Chicken Fingers and Flat Iron Steak. They all had Warm Chocolate Melting Cake for desert except me, I just had Butter Pecan Ice Cream. (Most nights I didnt get pics of the inlaws food - sorry) Mahi Mahi Chicken a la Greque Warm chocolate melting cake Butter Pecan Ice Cream After dinner we went looking around the ship and went to the shops. Of course I found a ring I liked until I found out the price $5500! Until he marked it down for me to about $2500. Still – EEK! LOL. We sat and listened to the Jazz music for awhile and relaxed. Around 9:00 we went back to Lido for the men to have a late night snack. Snack of pizza, cookies, pork, ect. Oh well we are on vacation right. We called it a night after that. DanaMarie Posted May 3, 2010 Author #15 Share Posted May 3, 2010 Dinner this night was fixed, we were all at one table and it was elegant night. It worked out for the best though because our new waiters were fantastic. Alex and Edwin. They kept our bread plates full, our drinks full, always asked if we wanted seconds after we finished the first plate, and made great recommendations. For dinner DF, FIL, and my self had Prime Rib, DM, DH had lobster. Joey and me Mom and dad Youll notice I dont have many pics of my inlaws - they hid from the camera or would make a wierd face or have their hand up so I couldnt get good shots. :(
