Departing from Mobile

When setting sail from Mobile to Cozumel, does the ship pass by any oil platforms? If does anyone have any pictures?

Mobile bay is full of well heads and transfer platforms. The cruise ships pass thru a corridor on the way south to Mexico and back up that is platform free (picked that little tid bit up from the Captain during the "Behind the Fun Tour" on the Fantasy). We passed within 40 miles of the rig that exploded and is now causing all the problems.

We are sailing from Mobile on Saturday.

 

As I understand it, currently the Fantasy is going to the EAST around the slick to enter and leave the port.

 

How long they will be able to do that depends on how the oil moves.

Today I heard that winds are keeping away from shore...of course, that could change at any moment.

The Port is going to be placing "Scrubbers" at the entrance to Mobile Port. When you return, expect it to take a little longer because they will be inspecting all ships entering the harbor.

 

If they have any oil on them, they will be washed down before being allowed to enter the port.
