Denied price drop......NEED HELP

I was denied price drop. I am still a little confused. Would like to know how do you find out your room category? I am staying on 7th level mid ship if anyone would know that. I also booked early saver. If anyone could help I would appreciate that.......thanks in advance

If you have no information, why would you have submitted a price drop to be denied... Im confused too.

 

If you give us your ship and cabin #, we can tell you what category the cabin is, as a starting point. without knowing what you paid, we cant tell if the price went down.

It should have your cabin cat and cabin number on your documents. Have you looked there? I just looked at two sets of documents that I have for upcoming cruises and it shows the information that you seek on both of them.

I found a price drop of $40 saying that all of the following categories are included 1a,4a,4b,4d,4f and 4H and also PT and 4J. So if my category is 4F why can't I get the price drop of $40. You have to go further into the booking to get your exact category. You can't go by the page that says starting at 300.00 inside cabin (example) you have to click on inside then go to 4F to see the real price to see if it dropped or not. When is your sailing?

Sounds to me like you are looking at a guarantee. You have to match to ONLY your exact category.

 

What a IS for instance says is that it can include any of those categories as a inside cabin .. then to get YOUR price you have to find a rate that includes your exact category, not guarantees. So you cant price match to fun saver or pack n go rates for instance ... but if the OV guarantee dropped below what you paid, you could upgrade and get the price drop. But you cant price match downward, which is what Im guessing you are trying to do. you dont say what category you are looking at ..is it a IS?

 

You can only get the price drop if you are looking at a rate that is for a 4F. If 4F sells out for instance you are outta luck.

Your room category 4F has to still be available. If there are no rooms available in that category it doesn't qualify.

I checked a November sailing and I think I see why you were denied. The first price that comes up is 329.00 for an inside but when you drill into the detail and get to category 4F the price is 349.00

When are you leaving? The early saver disappears as the date of the cruise get closer ( From Carnival Website : " Early Saver is available up to 3 months prior to sailing on short cruises (5 days or shorter) and up to 5 months prior to sailing on long cruises (6 days or greater). "

Maybe that is why you do not see early saver prices.

The specific page you refer to is describing all the Cabin classifications that are contained in each Cabin Category like Inside, OceanView, Balcony and Suite. this is for th purpose of defining the cabins in each Guarantee Booking Category, which is not the same as the ES Category that you are booked and is not relevant to your Price matching.

 

When you book Early Saver you're not only concerned with drops in the Early Saver Rate itself (which goes away in 3 months cruises 5 days or less and in 5 months cruises 6 days or more) but you also want to monitor drops for any rates that you're eligible for, including the FunSelect Rate, Past Guest Rate (if you're a Past guest), the 55+ Rate (if you're 55+), the Resident Rate for your State of Residence, and the Military Rate (if you're military eligible). If the Past Guest rate drops below your current ES rate, and you’re a Past Guest, you get that rate. Same for FunSelect, 55+, Resident and Military Rate drops. Remember that the price protection is for same ship, same dates, same Cabin Category and same number of passengers (the adjustment is for the combined PAX 1 and PAX 2 rates AND the PAX 3 (if any) and PAX 4 (if any) rates.

If your Category is listed as Not Available (or isn't shown), then you are out of luck for a Price Adjustment, unless more Cabins become available. However, if a Category above yours drops below your current ES Rate, you can upgrade to that Category and generally get OBC for the fare difference.

Once Booked, You can check the Past Guest, 55+ and Resident Promo Rates daily using the Quick Search Box on carnival.com . In order to view the promo rates, it may be necessary to first Log-In with your username AND Password, then Log-Out, such that no Name or Past Guest ID info is displayed when you visit carnival.com. You HAVE to go thru all the below intermediate pages to get to the Final Page that shows the Available Cabin Categories and the specific fare for each of same.

· Use the blue QUICK SEARCH Box on Carnival.com Home Page to fill-in your cruise information (Month/year, Embarkation Port, Destination, Cruise Length). Select the "Special Rates" link and always select your State of Residence from the drop-down list, and select the promo rates (Past Guest, 55+) that you're eligible for,. Click on the SEARCH link.

· “PAGE 1” – This display will be the SEARCH RESULTS display for all the cruises that fit the SEARCH criteria that you entered. There will be a line for each Cruise; across that line, the fare being offered for the lowest available Cabin classification within each CATEGORY (Interior, OceanView, Balcony, Suite) is displayed. The Fare displayed below each Category is NOT the Fare for ALL the Cabin classifications in that Category; it’s the Fare for the lowest Cabin classification in that Category. This is NOT the Fare you’re price-matching!!!! To proceed, Find your specific Cruise/Date line and click on the DETAILS link.

· “PAGE 2” - This CRUISE SUMMARY page displays Cabin Selection info, Itinerary Info and Ship Info for the specific Cruise you selected in the preceding step. The Fare displayed below each Category is NOT the Fare for ALL the Cabin classifications in that Category; it’s the Fare for the lowest Cabin classification in that Category. This is NOT the Fare you’re price-matching!!!! To proceed with Cabin Selection you have to Click the “SELECT” button under the Cabin CATEGORY (Interior, OceanView, Balcony, Suite) that you’re interested in.

· “PAGE 3” – This display will be the RATES PAGE for the Cabin CATEGORY (Interior, OceanView, Balcony, Suite) that you just selected. There will be a line for the standard FunSelect, FunSaver (and for EarlySaver if still being offered) Rates. Then, the 55+ Rate line, the Past Guest Rate line and the Resident Rate (for the State you selected earlier) is displayed, ONLY IF they are currently being offered. If you did a Cruise Search and entered your state, 55+ and Past Guest, there will be a Resident Rate line, a 55+ Rate Line and a Past Guest Rate displayed here ONLY if that rate is currently being offered for your specific cruise (and for the Resident Rate, for the State you entered). • “PAGE 5” - FINALLY, This display will be the Listing of all the Stateroom CATEGORIES and their FARES for the Booking Rate that you selected (FunSelect, FunSaver, EarlySaver, 55+, PastGuest, Residency). The Booking Info, Fare Code, Govt Fees and taxes for the booking will be displayed in the right-border. This is where you see the actual rates for each cabin classification within a CATEGORY.

location. One is considered a better cabin location wise, might be more mid ship on the same deck. Depends on the ship, so cant say what decks they are on.

 

The higher the deck or more mid deck, the higher the price.

 

I assume you are in a 4F and wanted to match it downward with a 4D. You can only get a price drop by matching the EXACT same category for the SAME number of people on the total booking.

 

It will be the same cabin, just a so called better location. ... usually about $20 per person more.
