Need to cancel

I need to cancel my booked cruise for Dec 12/10, and rebook for the week before. I have booked the fun saver rate (which use to be called the guaranteed rate I think). Anyways, I think that there are no penalties, and that I will be ok to do this right? I think I will also not purchase the carnival insurance this time. I will get it elsewhere.

Just confirming that I won't be denied the rebooking.:)

Thanx,

Phewwww. I thought I was ok.

Thanks a lot for confirming that for me.:D

Unless you booked with a TA that charges a change or cancellation fee, there are no fee's you will incur from the cruiseline to transfer your deposit or moneys already paid, to another sailing date.

I booked directly through carnival. I booked with someone that answered the phone. Does that mean that is who I ask for, or can I request a different PVP. When you call carnival do you ask to speak with a PVP or just talk to whoever is on the phone. Not sure if the people who answer the phone are PVP's or just customer service. Is there a difference. Does this make sense??:)

You can speak with the person that answers the phone. You even get to keep the same booking number, they will just transfer the amount you paid on your old booking to the new sailing.

Just give CCL a call and whoever you speak with can make the changes for you.

Suggest you check regarding insurance. Unsure from your post if you

paid for insurance with your first booking. If so - when you cancel you

might not be refunded that cost. SO .... ask if the insurance can be

transferred to your new booking.

When you call the 800 Carnival number you speak with a Cruise Vacation Specialist in the reservations department, not a PVP.

I thought there was a difference. I haven't called yet, so if I would like to get a PVP do I request to speak to someone in that dept to handle my cancellation and rebooking?

Do you have a PVP? If you already have one, I can see a reason you might want to wait. If you dont have one, anyone that picks up the phone can assist you.
